The Phoenix area could get more rain this week as there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms every day, according to the latest forecasting models.
Those chances are lower at the start of the week, but the probability of rain increases each day.
Tom Frieders is with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
“Each day, pretty much, we’re in a similar pattern,” Frieders said. “So we’re gonna have a daily chance of thunderstorms. And anytime a thunderstorm forms can produce torrential rainfall.”
Frieders expects high temperatures to sit around 100 degrees for the majority of the week.
Todays Weather Risk Outlooks. Storms can't be ruled out each day with this pattern. Risks of heavy rainfall, gusty winds, blowing dust and and frequent lightning each day. This flash flood threat is certainly a higher concern today. #azwx #cawx pic.twitter.com/Xb3knot3SU
