Thursday marks the fourth anniversary of the death of John McCain, one of the most iconic figures in Arizona politics. His former chief of staff, Mark Salter, says he misses McCain and his voice on current events, like the war on Ukraine.
"I miss his company, and he was an awful fun guy to be around and an awful interesting fella to talk to, and I kind of miss that as you would imagine as friends do when they lose friends," Salter said.
Salter says the longtime senator set a fine example of public service and that if it were not for cancer, McCain would have likely pursued a seventh term. A movie based on McCain’s biography, “The Luckiest Man,” is being planned.
