Pima County is inviting young artists to once again take part in its annual anti-graffiti program

Pima County is inviting young artists to once again take part in its annual anti-graffiti program. Winning artwork will be use on calendars for distribution at public libraries, schools and community events.

In its 10th year of the contest, the Taking Action Against Graffiti Program has worked with artists aged 9 to 18.

According to a release from the county, artwork can be realistic or abstract and must be suitable for all audiences and contain no obscenities, political messages or profanity.

A panel will judge on aspects such as creativity, originality, visual impact and why graffiti is negative.

TAAG has handled more than 3,300 calls for graffiti cleanup in the last three years according to the county’s website.

The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.
