Travel spending was at a new pandemic high last month, according to the U.S. Travel Association.
As the Labor Day weekend approaches, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport expects to see heavy travel traffic that will bring numbers at the airport closer to pre-pandemic levels, according to spokesperson Greg Roybal.
“We have been coming back and we are within single digits, percentage wise, of our traffic in 2019,” Roybal said.
Although masking up and social distancing are not mandated, Roybal said Sky Harbor still encourages doing both and following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
