The Homeland Security Department is seeking nominations of people to serve on its new Tribal Advisory Council.
The group will give advice and recommendations to the Homeland Security secretary on policies and practices that affect indigenous communities.
Federal officials say they want the makeup of the Tribal Advisory Council to reflect the large expanse of sovereign tribal nations.
The window to submit nominations closes in 30 days.
