Sept 20 is National Voter Registration Day.
In Arizona, the deadline to register to vote for the November election is Oct. 11.
During the last midterm election in 2018, about 65% of eligible voters voted, according to the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office. This year, advocates are trying to increase that number.
Lydia Guzman with Chicanos Por La Causa says issues on the ballot will affect everyone.
“Whether you care about women’s issues, whether you care about health care, whether you care about education, whether you care about issues that affect our senior citizens, Latinos, Asian Americans, African Americans, every community is impacted,” she said.
