Phoenix-based Shamrock Foods has bought 81 acres of land for a distribution center in southern Arizona.
The center will be built just off Interstate 10 in Marana, about 20 miles north of Tucson. It’s part of a larger mixed-use development called Crossroads at Gladden.
Earlier this year, a Kansas-based developer bought nearly 130 acres to build the Southern Arizona Logistics Center. The first buildings will feature nearly a million square feet.
Another 60 acres is expected to house a shopping center and restaurants. Adjacent to the mixed use properties is a master planned community of single-family homes with parks, trails and its own elementary school.
