Hot weather is beginning of the work week with high temperatures in the low to mid-100s.
Phoenix National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Benedict also says there is a chance of showers.
“We will see a little bit of a moisture return early in the week, there’s a chance for some showers and storms, mostly gonna favor the higher terrain, basically like northeast Phoenix, as well as down to the southeast,” he said.
The monsoon season in Arizona ends Sept. 30. Benedict says rainfall in the state this year is relatively average.
Here is a look at the forecast for the Phoenix area. We'll have above normal temperatures the first half of the workweek followed by near normal temperatures during the latter half. Storm chances return for a couple of days along with breezier and more humid conditions. #azwx pic.twitter.com/MzOiuH17ru
