Planned Parenthood of Arizona has asked a Pima County judge to temporarily put her ruling on hold that allowed a pre-statehood law banning most abortions to go back into effect.

In a Sept. 27 interview with The Show, the group said that it had filed a notice to appeal that ruling, but wants the law to remain blocked while the legal process plays out. On the same day, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said the abortion ruling and subsequent appeal " have not resolved which law among conflicting statutes now applies." She also said her office has not received any cases related to abortion.

Pima County Attorney Laura Conover responded to the abortion decision by saying she’s "very disappointed," and "will be looking at available legal remedies."

The Show spoke with Conover to learn about where things stand on this issue.
