Laundry, camp showers and other services are back to normal at Grand Canyon National Park, which has imposed water conservation measures a number of times this summer.

That system faced a number of challenges over the summer, which led to water conservation measures. But the pipes have been repaired and restrictions have been lifted. Conservation is always a priority at the Canyon, but park spokeswoman Joelle Baird says it has been a bigger problem than usual this year.
“Yeah, it’s been a pretty dynamic summer of one issue after another whether it’s electrical or the pipeline itself, and we’ve had multiple major breaks in multiple areas, and a very limited crew in water utilities,” Baird said.
The park hopes that another water issue involving rest stops on Bright Angel Trail will be resolved soon.
