Tempe ranks No. 2 on Money magazine's 'Best Places to Live in the U.S.' list

Money magazine has released its annual ranking of the “ 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. Only one Arizona city made this year’s list.

According to Money magazine, the second-best U.S. city to live in is Tempe. The East Valley city was second only to Atlanta, and was followed by Kirkland, Washington, and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Tempe Mayor Corey Woods says the designation reflects a lot of positive aspects about the city.

“I think it’s a tremendous accomplishment. It really speaks to the amazing things that are going on in this community, the thriving small business community, the large Fortune 500 companies that are also taking up residence within our city," he says.

Woods also touted Tempe’s culture and diversity. Money magazine highlighted a number of Tempe’s qualities, including its vibrant arts scene and affordable means of transportation.
