Phoenix Mercury president pushes to keep Brittney Griner in public eye

After being wrongfully detained in Russia, Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner’s name was prevalent during the WNBA season.

But now that it’s ended, team President Vince Kozar says the challenge is keeping her case at the forefront.

He said it will take more than the White House acknowledging the situation to keep her in the public eye.

"It’s our responsibility as her family and friends and it’s our responsibility in coordination with her camp, her representatives to make sure that doesn’t fall by the wayside because it is incredibly important." he said,.

Kozar added that he has been able to correspond with Griner several times since her arrest in February.
