Judge to hear arguments next month in physician-backed abortion lawsuit

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge will hear arguments next month in a case brought by some Arizona physicians; they’re arguing Arizona’s pre-statehood law generally banning abortions does not apply to them.

This comes after the state Court of Appeals overturned a Pima County judge’s ruling that that law should be allowed to take effect, since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

To talk through these cases, The Show spoke with Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.
