Starting Oct. 24, Valley Metro is introducing a mix of service adjustments for its riders.
The transit system is adding a new route, extending routes, and increasing, reducing or eliminating services as part of the biannual service change.
Before it launches, riders should check their regular routes and see how their travel may be impacted. They can also try the new transit options being added.
The Mesa Fiesta BUZZ, is a new, free neighborhood circulator that connects the Fiesta District, Asian District and Mesa Riverview areas. The route operates Monday to Saturday, arriving every 30 minutes.
For the first time, the Avondale ZOOM will become a free route. The north section of the route is being removed with additional routing changes south of the Interstate 10. WeRIDE, a new micro transit service, will be available in Avondale on Monday to Friday, operating on the north side of I-10.
More service changes:
- Service increases: Route 30 - University Drive, Route 156 - Chandler Boulevardand Tempe Orbit Saturn
- Route extensions: Route 43 - 43rd Avenue, Route 77 - Baseline Road and Route 106 - Peoria Avenue
- Service reductions: Route 531 - Mesa/Gilbert Express, Route 533 - Mesa Express and Route 535 - Northeast Mesa Express
- Route elimination: Route 541 - Chandler/Mesa Express
