Pistoleros documentary 'Death, Drugs and Rock N' Roll' is a love story between two brothers

The Pistoleros were a big part of the Tempe music scene of the early 1990s along with the Gin Blossoms and others. And a new documentary looks at the band, and the turbulence that sometimes engulfed it.

Steven Esparza is a filmmaker in the Valley and the owner of EchoHouse Films. He’s also the director of the film “Pistoleros: Death, Drugs and Rock N’ Roll.”

The Show spoke with him about the film and asked what got him interested in this story.
