Bureau of Reclamation to fund drought resiliency projects for western states

The Department of Interior announced that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes more than $200 million for drought resilience projects.

That includes $5 million to study sedimentation and storage in Verde River reservoirs, which make up a large percentage of the Valley’s water supply.

It also includes funding for projects in upper and lower basin states that use the Colorado River.

The Bureau of Reclamation will launch similar projects over the next five years.
