Two political groups that encourage voting for their members filed a restraining order against members of Clean Elections USA and its founder to prevent them from being too close to ballot drop boxes.
The lawsuit claims many of those hanging around those boxes are tied to the elections organization.
The lawsuit filed by the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans and Voto Latino accused members of Clean Elections USA and founder Melody Jennings of conducting a coordinated campaign of voter intimidation.
Attorney Daniel Arrellano claims the defendants will intimidate lawful Arizona voters. He also wants to bar those involved with the organization from taking videos or photos of voters and their vehicles around drop boxes.
Arrellano also says the actions of its members violate the federal Voting Rights Act and the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act, which bans private conspiracies to intimidate voters.
Jennings has called for at least eight volunteers to monitor each voting location.
