Cochise supervisors greenlights hand count of election results despite warnings it's illegal

The Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted 2-1 on Oct. 24 to require a full hand count of the election results on Nov. 8. This is on top of a machine count — and despite warnings from the county attorney that the decision is illegal and could result in a lawsuit.

This comes amid unfounded concerns from many right-wing voters that election machines are inaccurate and not trustworthy.

Arizona Public Media’s Andrew Oxford was present at the meeting, and The Show spoke with him to learn what factored into this outcome.
