Jon Stewart presses Mark Brnovich on 2020 election denial

Arizona voters are considering election integrity as they cast early ballots.

During the 2020 election, some wrongly believed the contest was stolen from Donald Trump. The claims led to the state Senate hiring a private firm, Cyber Ninjas, to investigate. The firm found no evidence of foul play.

Despite that, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich refused to tell talk show host and political commentator Jon Stewart that Joe Biden won the presidency. Stewart pressed Brnovich on his show “The Problem with Jon Stewart.”

Stewart said, “The fact is the election in Arizona was well run, not fraudulent, and not stolen from Donald Trump, according to even your investigations. Why is it just so hard to say yes to that?”

Brnovich interjected by starting to say, “He never ...” and then added, “I just, I guess because I have spent most of my career as a prosecutor and we still have some ongoing cases.”

Brnovich is investigating 20 criminal cases related to the 2020 election. The full interview is set to stream on Apple TV+ on Friday.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article has been updated to clarify that the state Senate hired Cyber Ninjas.
