Maricopa County officials estimate it will take 10 to 12 days before final results of the Nov. 8 elections are posted.
Elections co-director Scott Jarrett said at a news conference Wednesday that a key factor in the timeline is when early ballots are returned.
“And it’s a very popular mode of voting, is to actually return that ballot on Election Day,” he said.
Jarrett said roughly 15% of early ballots from this summer were returned on the day of the August primary.
To have one’s votes be part of initial tallies released on Nov. 8, Jarrett said your ballot has to already be at Maricopa County’s election center on Nov. 5.
