According to one viral infection physician, flu season has not hit Arizona residents as hard as those living in other parts of the country. But Dr. Devin Minior, the ambulatory division chief with Banner Health, still recommends getting vaccinations soon.
“Generally, the flu vaccine typically is available kind of at the beginning of September, but the general recommendation is to get that vaccine at least a couple weeks before we fully hit the flu season,” he said.
Minior recommends getting a shot as soon as possible. He says certain groups, like older people, are at the highest risk of being infected.
