Former President Barack Obama is on his way to Arizona this week to hold a rally for Democratic candidates Mark Kelly and Katie Hobbs.
The event is scheduled to take place at Cesar Chavez High School in Laveen on Wednesday evening. It will also include attorney general candidate Kris Mayes, secretary of state candidate Adrian Fontes and Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman. At least one local Republican will also campaign alongside the former president — Mesa Mayor John Giles, who’s endorsed several Democrats running for office this election season.
It’s a sure sign that Arizona is in the national spotlight as we head into the final days of campaigning. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
To talk more about the political stakes, The Show heard from Democratic strategist Stacy Pearson, co-founder of Lumen Strategies.
