Gov. Doug Ducey’s decision to place shipping containers along gaps in the border wall has met with opposition from federal agencies and at least one tribe.
The Bureau of Reclamation objected to the shipping containers near Yuma because they were on federal and tribal lands.
Then the state moved more containers to Coronado National Forest, which also objected.
But the state did not back down. In fact, it has sued the federal government over the issue.
The Center for Biological Diversity says the containers are blocking wildlife migration corridors and has threatened legal action.
On Wednesday, the group asked to be named as a defendant in the state’s lawsuit.
