Mesa launches free bus connecting Riverview, Fiesta and Asian districts

A new bus service has launched, connecting some of the most popular areas in west Mesa. And city leaders are excited about the timing, with big-ticket events like spring training and the Super Bowl set to return to the Valley. The bus service is called the Fiesta Buzz and provided by Valley Metro.

The bus connects Mesa’s Riverview, Fiesta and Asian districts. Three buses circle in 30-minute rotations, Monday through Saturday. Service will be available Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

City Councilmember Francisco Heredia hopes the buses will give Mesa a jolt in quality of life. “We see it that we are adding more options for people to travel in West Mesa for work, for school, entertainment, restaurants, food," he said.

Heredia says there is hope the bus will help when spring training and the Super Bowl come to town.

The buses are free for people to use. The buses are powered on compressed natural gas which will produce fewer emissions than gasoline-powered buses.
