Starting next fall, Northern Arizona University will provide full tuition to members of the state’s 22 federally recognized tribes.
The opportunity follows an earlier decision this year to offer full tuition to Arizona residents in homes earning less than $65,000 a year.
Anika Olsen is NAU’s vice president of enrollment management.
"We’re doing all we can to remove the cost barrier. That is the primary concern for families. So how do we do that to the best of our abilities and this is one step in that direction," she said.
The offer is open to would-be students living outside of Arizona who are members of any of the 22 tribes.
