The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors took public comment for the first time since the election last week.
Some showed up expressing concern about the amount of time it’s taken to count all the ballots noting that states like Florida counted faster.
However, Florida, and most other states, have not completed their counting.
The Board of Supervisors does not create laws on how quickly counting is conducted.
That is decided by the state legislature. Board Supervisor Thomas Galvin noted other states have differing election laws.
“Go to the state legislature, they’ve been sitting on their butts. They haven’t changed a single thing. And if you want changes in how votes are counted, then let them know. But we followed state law.” Galvin said.
Others came to express concerns and frustrations with tabulation machine problems on Election Day, though some did say they viewed the election was handled justly.
The Board of Supervisors is still investigating the cause of printer malfunctions.
