On Wednesday, Nov. 30, starting at noon, residents around the Palo Verde Generating Station will hear an outdoor warning siren test.
It will last for three minutes, and then sound again at 12:30 p.m. for the same length of time.
This is part of the “Alert and Notification System” required by federal regulations. In conjunction with the siren are the Wireless Emergency Alerts that will be sent to phones in Maricopa County that opted into the test program.
Those phone alerts will come at 12:15 p.m.
