Search for husband of NAU professor off Mexico coast continues

The search continues off the coast of Puerto Peñasco for Corey Allen, an Arizona man who went missing last week during a kayaking trip.

The body of his wife, NAU professor Yeon-Su Kim, was found earlier this week in the waters near Rocky Point, Mexico.

Search coordinator Tavane McCombs says weather conditions have improved, helping search efforts.

"We still have a receding tide. Every time we have a new moon or a full moon, The water will expose the ocean floor 2-3 miles out. So that helps us to see if there’s any breadcrumbs or articles that may have fallen off the boat or the person," McCombs said.

Both Mexican and U.S. authorities are involved in the search.
