Why air travel over Thanksgiving went so much better than over the summer

Thanksgiving travel this year was expected to look a lot like it did before the pandemic. AAA predicted nearly 55 million Americans would head somewhere else for the holiday.

And despite many of those people taking to the skies, air travel was actually pretty smooth overall during the week of Thanksgiving. That’s in contrast to earlier this year, when airlines were dealing with all kinds of problems, from canceled flights to staffing shortages.
