Following Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s announcement that she's registering as an independent, eyes have looked for other candidates to run in the Democratic Party for the seat in 2024.
One name that pops up, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego. Though Monday, he told MSNBC’s Morning Joe hosts he’ll make a decision after talking to his family and a town hall event.
"We’ll be making a decision based on what’s best for Arizona and based on what I hear from the actual constituents of Arizona," Gallego said.
Gallego added that Democrats performed very well in the recent election and that Sinema’s polling is down in the party.
He believes Sinema could end up pulling Republican votes from those who don’t support the GOP’s mainstream beliefs.
