Judge to hear arguments Friday on whether to dismiss SOS election challenge from Finchem

An initial hearing was heard Tuesday on an election challenge against Arizona Secretary of State-elect Adrian Fontes.

Losing candidate Mark Finchem alleges there were some 60,000 votes missing from Maricopa County and about 20,000 missing from Pima County.

A hearing to dismiss the case will be heard Friday. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Melissa Julian told the attorneys she plans to have a decision on whether to toss the suit this week.

"I will tell you on Friday, I will issue my ruling so that you have the weekend to get ready to the extent you need to," Julian said.

She advised both parties to be prepared for further hearings next week if she does not rule for the case to be dismissed.
