If your coats are not already out, get ready — it's going to be cold in the Phoenix area this weekend.
Below average temperatures are currently gripping the metro area, and National Weather Service Phoenix meteorologist Marvin Percha says the chill and possible frost will continue into the weekend.
“Saturday morning, we’re looking at temperatures even at the airport in the mid-30s and the outlying area it’s falling into the upper 20s," Percha said.
Percha says the temperatures are coming from Alaska and Canada, which is not unusual for this time of year. But typical low temperatures are in the mid 40s.
