Uber unveiled new safety features for its drivers. Here are the main takeaways

Uber earlier this year unveiled some new safety features; they include the ability of drivers to use the forward-facing camera on their phones to record video.

The changes come amid calls for increased security for both drivers and passengers. The rideshare company this summer released a safety report covering 2019 and 2020; it included more than 3,800 reports of sexual assault during that time.

To discuss these changes and what they’ll mean for Uber and its customers, The Show spoke with Sergio Avedian, senior contributor for the blog the Rideshare Guy.
