Walmart drone delivery available for limited Phoenix area customers

Walmart is now offering drone delivery for select customers in Arizona.

The option is available to customers who live within a mile of four stores — two in Glendale and two in Peoria. For a fee of $3.99, orders up to 10 pounds can be placed through DroneUp’s delivery’s website.

DroneUp employees will evaluate the delivery site to determine the safest location — like a front or back yard or driveway. Items are delivered using a cable that lowers the package to the ground. Walmart and DroneUp plan to offer limited delivery in five more states before year’s end bringing delivery to a total of 34 stores in 23 cities nationwide.

Participating stores in Arizona are:

  • Walmart Supercenter at 21655 N Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria.
  • Walmart Supercenter at 7975 W Peoria Ave. in Peoria .
  • Walmart Supercenter at 18551 N. 83rd Ave. in Glendale.
  • Walmart Supercenter at 5845 W. Bell Road in Glendale.
