The Maricopa Air Quality Department declared a no burn day Monday due to high levels of pollution.
Wood burning in fireplaces, chimeneas, and outdoor fires are prohibited for residents and businesses as part of the no burn day.
The county is also recommending residents don’t use leaf blowers or drive off-road vehicles.
In addition, the county’s air quality department also recommends driving as little as possible.
It urges residents to carpool and go inside to coffee shops and fast food restaurants instead of idling the engine while waiting in drive-thru line
