Arizona Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs is in contact with White House officials to address concerns about overwhelming migration numbers at the southern border.
“We’re ready to take action, and I think the White House is set to announce some new policy soon that will provide some relief, and we’ll continue to work with them," Hobbs said.
Hobbs says she is also speaking with mayors at the Arizona border to determine what state resources they need.
Hobbs is scheduled to be sworn in as governor next week.
