How 2022 forced the Phoenix arts community to think differently

It has been a difficult few years for much of the arts community in the Phoenix area. Pandemic-related closures and protocols forced many arts organizations to change the way they operate — and some of those changes are still being felt.

To take stock of the Valley’s arts scene and look back at 2022 and look ahead to the future, The Show spoke to Patricia Sannit, a Phoenix-based multidisciplinary artist; and and Louis Farber, Associate Artistic Director at Stray Cat Theater in Tempe, who also directs and performs across the Valley.

They both brought up the idea of some kind of reset in the Phoenix area over the last couple of years and how those changes could create new opportunities in the arts.
