On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Tonopah, Arizona, to celebrate the groundbreaking of a high voltage transmission line known as the Ten West Link.
The transmission line would connect Arizona to Southern California with new power grid infrastructure.
The project was approved by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management in 2019 and was authorized for construction earlier this year.
Among those joining the vice president are Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
The event plans to highlight the efforts of the Biden administration to tackle the climate crisis and create a clean energy economy.
