Bill proposed to outlaw early voting in Arizona

A Republican state lawmaker who also wants to overturn the 2022 election results is continuing the push to outlaw voting by mail.

The proposal from Rep. Liz Harris of Chandler says all voting should be done at the polls, with the exception of those who are in the military overseas or physically unable.

More than 80% of everyone who voted in last year's election did so through an early ballot.

Harris is also sponsoring a bill that would not only preclude early voting but also require all ballots to be counted by hand.

She alleged fraud as the reason for her measure, though no one has been able to convince a judge with similar claims when it comes to contesting election results.

Harris has previously threatened to withhold votes in the Legislature unless a revote is done. Republicans have a one-person majority in the state House.
