Demonstrators rally at Arizona Capitol on 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade

A crowd of people gathered at the state Capitol on Sunday. They rallied together for various causes, including commemorating the 50th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling and speaking out against a series of legislative bills targeting transgender individuals.

Among those present was Alicia Nuanez from central Phoenix.

“I’m here to stand up for my rights, my daughters’ rights, my granddaughters’ rights and all of the uterus holders’ rights for bodily autonomy,” she said.

She accused the Supreme Court of attacking women and people’s constitutional rights for overturning Roe v. Wade last year.
