The Valley of the Sun is being met with uncharacteristically frigid temperatures this week.
National Weather Service meteorologist Austin Jamison said the below-temperatures are expected in the Phoenix area and lows in the 20s are coming to southern Arizona.
"The coldest morning is probably going to be Tuesday and Wednesday with portions of the metro area seeing freezing temperatures," Jamison said.
He added that residents should cover their plants, protect their pets and expect to scrape frost off of vehicles parked outside. Chilly weather is expected to last through the week.
