Mayes' attorney tells judge Hamadeh not entitled to retry legal bid to install him as AG

A lawyer for Attorney General Kris Mayes says Republican Abe Hamadeh is not entitled to retry his legal bid to install him in the position after losing the November election.

Attorney Alexis Danneman told a Mohave County judge that Hamadeh’s plea doesn’t claim to have any new evidence of election conduct than was already available to him last month.

Hamedeh’s team did not provide any irregularities in his trial in December, and the judge said he failed to prove his case.

Danneman also says Hamedeh has received what statutes permit and should not be granted new relief.

Hamadeh’s team contends hand counts of all ballots from other counties will let them determine if errors seen in Pinal County were repeated elsewhere.

Except they were granted a small recount of select counties, which showed more votes for Mayes.
