The public can weigh in on Phoenix police use-of-force policy

The Phoenix Police Department is revising its use-of-force policy, and Tuesday marks the last day to submit public comment on its draft.

The department is taking public input on the core principles, expanded definitions, levels of force and general policies.

In the near future, it will seek more input on other sections such as reporting requirements and force options.

The Department of Justice is investigating the use of force by Phoenix police officers and whether the department engages in discriminatory policy.
