Arizona Diamondbacks and Avnet sponsorship deal includes jersey patch

The Arizona Diamondbacks will add a patch to their baseball jerseys showcasing a technology company.

The black patch on the sleeve will feature the letter “A” and Avnet, the company’s name. Based in Phoenix, Avnet does business around the world providing electronic components and services.

Financial terms were not disclosed but described as a multiyear agreement, with community partnerships to invest in science, technology, engineering and math education programs throughout Arizona.

In a press release, Avnet CEO’s Phil Gallagher said, “As a global company, we’re dedicated to serving the communities in which our employees live, work and play, and we are excited to support the team’s work on and off the field while collaborating to make a difference in our community.”

It’s Avnet’s first sponsorship with a professional team and the Diamondbacks become the third Major League Baseball team to secure a patch deal since the league opened the program in 2022.

“We are excited to partner with locally-based Avnet primarily because of our aligned values that include a real commitment to our employees and our fans (customers) as well as a dedication to making a difference in the great state of Arizona through our community support and investments,” said Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall.
