Anyone who’s ever written anything can probably relate to the experience of having writer's block — staring at a blank screen or piece of paper and having no idea what should come next.
But technology may be able to help unblock writers’ creativity.
A few years ago, James Yu took a sabbatical from his job in the tech industry to write fiction for the first time. In doing so, he discovered new tech called large language models, which can help writers come up with ideas and move beyond writer's block. He tried it out and says he found it helpful.
It was also around this time that he met the person who would co-found a company with him called Sudowrite. It’s an artificial-intelligence technology to help writers.
And, it’s not the only one — ChatGPT, for example, has generated a good amount of attention — and controversy — recently.
The Show spoke with Yu more about the technology and how he’s finding writers are using the program.
