Salt River Project teams with energy firm to bring solar to tech giant Meta

As tech firms such as Meta make their home in the Valley, they look for ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

That's why the company formerly known as Facebook has teamed up with Salt River Project on a new solar facility.

Meta wants to power its new data center in Mesa with renewable energy.

Last week, SRP said it has partnered with the AES Corporation to open a new 100-megawatt facility in Eloy to support the 2.5 million square foot development.

The tech giant will use half of the energy created; the rest will go to residential and small business customers.

SRP has a number of solar projects on the drawing board that it hopes will supply nearly half a million homes.
