A suspect in a Sonoran murder has been arrested in Phoenix and returned to Mexican authorities.
Sonoran authorities allege that in October 2021 a man they identify only as Victor Jesus viciously beat a 54-year-old man with the butt of a rifle in the southern municipality of Alamos.
The victim later died of his injuries, and Sonoran officials eventually discovered that the suspect was living in a Phoenix trailer park, according to a release.
It was there that INTERPOL and Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested the suspect, who was then turned over to Sonoran authorities in Nogales.
The release also noted the role of the Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement, which Ken Salazar — the US. .ambassador to Mexico — creditedwith the arrest of 400 Mexican fugitives last February.
