Commissioner Roger Goodell says the NFL is not where it should be when it comes to minority hiring

The Arizona Cardinals have yet to announce a new head coach after firing Kliff Kingsbury last month.

There have been recent calls for inclusivity and diversity for hiring within the NFL.

During a news conference in Phoenix, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged that the league is not where it should be when it comes to minority hiring.

"I think it’s more of a focus on what are the key things that we should be focused on and maybe not do some of the other programs that weren’t providing some of the benefits or opportunities that we hoped," Goodell said.

Of the 32 NFL teams, only six have head coaches from minority communities.
