This anthropologist says humans are hardwired to seek out sugary foods

Valentine’s Day is this week, which means big candy and chocolate sales.

Stephen Wooding says even if we try to avoid sweets, we kind of can’t help it — we’re wired to seek them out.

Wooding is a professor of anthropology at the University of California, Merced, where he studies the genetics of taste sensitivity. He joined The Show to talk about why humans are predisposed to be drawn to sweets.
