The front of David Espinoza’s Phoenix shop is full of boots in different colors, sizes and designs. But behind the scenes is where the boots take shape through sewing, sanding and and lot of other processes.
Espinoza estimates it takes 20 hours to make a pair of boots from start to finish.
He started his bootmaking company Espinoza Bootmaker in 1990, but says since he didn’t have a lot of money, he bought used machines — some of which he’s still using today.
